Valeria Latorre is a self-taught visual artist with a scientific background. She is based in the South of Italy.

She believes Art and Science are deeply connected, continuous researches driven by inspiration and intuition and structured by studying and experimenting.

Her main focus is on water, it is expressed through hyperrealistic paintings, photography and video making.

The aim is  to show water in ways it is not usually seen, exploring and expressing its wholeness from a scientific, philosophical and visual point of view, with a special attention to the interaction between water, light and movement at a human perception level.

Philosophy and science studies support the evolution of the research which is deeply influenced by Japanese Wabi Sabi aesthetics.

Quote
Valeria, your work is beautiful! Evoking the texture and appearance of water with stunning realism, your work is boldly naturalistic. With its delicate textures and precise understanding of lighting, the work is ethereal yet rich in detail, evoking the sensual fluidity of liquid flowing across the canvas with impressive precision. Your compositions are carefully balanced with an expressive sense of motion and dynamism that distinguishes each work without losing the overall cohesion of the series. Fantastic work!
