My practice explores the intersection of memory, gender, and trauma through otherworldly objects and environments. Craft processes allow me to question the historically gendered stereotypes that accompany methods of making, such as fiber art and metalsmithing. The materials seen in my work are often my own recycled consumer waste and reimagined discarded materials. Using processes that are often exhaustive and time-consuming, with materials that have been completely reimagined, themes of trauma and torture come to mind often.
