I am excited by the light and color in random moments and scenes of nature that fill your senses with thrilling emotion. Emotion, Light & Color: This exploration has been my passion and inspiration. My “Wildflower Collection” has bright and happy florals that are a celebration of unapologetic vibrant color and energetic expressive whimsy. I will start a piece by throwing the paint in a chaotic yet joyful dance around the canvas, adding many layers, not really knowing what the outcome will be, and finishing with more intentional elements. My “Tree Collection” pieces, while the composition and painting are more deliberate, are also filled with emotive vivid color and energetic movement.
Long Island is a special place to live with many natural and wild places to explore. On the north side of the island there are scenic bluffs overlooking the waters of the Long Island Sound, the Vineyards of the North Fork, rolling green meadows & farmlands, and Peconic Bay. The south side of the island hosts Atlantic Ocean beaches with pristine white sand, dunes filled with sea grasses & beach plums, ending at Montauk Point. In the middle are potato farms, pine barrens, pastures with goats and horses, and June strawberry fields with red plump berries. Each place filled with seasonal vibrancy and random bursts of seagrasses, wildflowers and spectacular color provide my inspiration and palette.
