Rowan Blankemeyer is an eighteen year old artist originally from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She currently spends her time studying as a General Fine Arts student at the Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore, Maryland, minoring in Curatorial Studies and Journalism. Her main mediums are primarily traditional, consisting of painting and mixed media work, in most recent works beginning to introduce fiber. She mainly deals with themes of loss, love, nature, the feminine grotesque and bodily form, based on her primary experiences as a woman in the 21st century. She continues to search for inspirations in her personal life in natural and cultural settings.
