Personally, I believe creating art is an act of faith. My work is the product of the tension between having the confidence to create a worthy message and trusting that that message is powerful enough to reveal itself. As de Kooning said, "What you do when you paint, you take a brush full of paint, get paint on the picture, and you have faith." As an abstract artist from Nova Scotia, my inspiration comes from the works of Kandinsky, de Kooning and Basquiat. A passion for the past lead me to a career surrounded by artifacts and a calling to reimagine history through a twenty-first century lens.
