Born in 1992 in Zaragoza (Spain), Macarena Pinilla is an artist that works with the idea of reconciliation between the essence of the human being and the natural environment.
From an existentialist approach her work studies nature as a reflection of the authenticity and freedom sometimes absent in modern society.
Her paintings reveal impressions that transcend from lived experiences creating a bond with the observer through natural pigments, lighting behaviour, organic forms and human figures. The medium broadly used on her work is acrylic paint. She also experiments with natural pigments as an interconnection to the
idea of environmental consciousness.
From an early age her understanding of the world is represented through her drawings. Developing an innate interest for visual arts, the exploration with colour lead her work into paintings with solid vibrant and profound qualities.
An ongoing study background in design combined this artistic inclination with a deeper knowledge of conceptualization, representation through form, colour psychology and texture.
