Jonas Kolecki, born in 1994 in Munich, is a versatile artist working across film, photography, installation, and performance. He studied Philosophy in Munich before completing his Fine Arts degree in Bolzano. Currently studying at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich and the Royal Academy of Arts Copenhagen.

Biography

Jonas Kolecki (*1994 in Munich) works with various media, including film, video, photography, collage, installation and performance. He first studied Philosophy at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich until 2016 and then Fine Arts at the Free University of Bolzano in South Tyrol, where he graduated in 2020. Jonas is currently studying at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich in the class of Prof. Olaf Nicolai and the Royal Academy of Arts Copenhagen. His work was exhibited at the Kunsthaus Dahlem Berlin 2022, Lothringer 13 in 2022, Fondazione Antonio Dalle Nogare in Bolzano in 2020 and at the Fondazione Centro Arti Visive di Pietrasanta in 2018 and is represented in the Barth Collection, Bressanone, the Muri-Gries monastery, Bolzano and in various private collections.

Since 2014 he directed various collaborative film and media projects in Europe and beyond ranging between nonprofit cause-films, independent documentaries, filmmaking workshops and commissions under the umbrella of SophyLab.
