Self-educated, multi and interdisciplinary artist, Gustavo Ramos works in the areas of visual arts, performance, music and technology. His research aims at a common structure among several artistic fields, their connection mechanisms and the structures of perception.
In 2001 he started with Roberto Ramos, researcher and artist as well, the experimental project D.A.M. (Animic Development of the Movement), focused to research the essence of the movement in its most diverse circunstances and manifestations. This exploratory initiative came from the decision to joint their particular researches, the one initiated by Roberto which began in 1987 and the other by Gustavo, who started it in 1991.
Due to the hybrid nature of its language, D.A.M. presented in events and venues such as Museum of Modern Art of São Paulo (MAM), Art and Technology Biennal Emoção Art.ficial 3.0 and Rumos Dança, both in Itaú Cultural, as well Kaaitheater in Belgium, among others.
D.A.M. received the important sponsorship prizes "Prêmio Funarte Petrobras de Fomento à Dança" and "Prêmio Rumos Dança Itaú Cultural" respectively. It was also granted with the "Programa Petrobras Cultural" (Petrobras Cultural Program), one of the most prestigious sponsorship programs in Brazil, lasting 4 years.
