Deniz Ozuygur is a Turkish American artist currently based in Istanbul. She grew up in New York City, where she received a BFA from NYU.

Deniz explores cultural values, social dynamics and human nature. Her work serves as a visual dialogue on subjects that are deeply personal, including childhood, love, marriage, motherhood, belonging, her role as an artist and the very essence of creativity itself.

Selecting her materials with deliberate care, Deniz aligns them with the conceptual heart of each artwork. Through the use of her children’s toys, her cat's hair, a pair of braces gifted by her orthodontist, fuse beads, dirt and tea, she adds depth and nuance to her narrative. While Deniz's choice of materials spans a wide spectrum, her poetic sense of humor surfaces as the common thread that runs through all her works.

Deniz's artworks have been exhibited at Art On Istanbul, David Benrimon Fine Art, Scala Mata Gallery, 7Eleven Gallery, Art Moves Festival, and received coverage from Time Out New York Magazine, NBC News, Wired UK and Gizmodo. In acknowledgment of her innovative approach, Deniz was honored with the Jack Goodman Scholarship for Art and Technology.
