In March 2022, she unveiled her debut book, "What Happens In The Dark," which was published by Max Ström. Markelius recently completed her Bachelor's degree in Fine Art Photography at the University of the Arts London in 2023.

Markelius' artistic endeavors delve into the intricate realms of metamorphosis and transformation, encompassing both personal and societal dimensions. Her work embodies a perpetual oscillation between nihilism and faith, capturing the essence of constant movement. In her earlier works, Markelius established a profound connection to Nordic nature, utilizing it as a symbolic representation of various states of mind. However, her current projects are venturing into themes pertaining to the future, particularly exploring the dynamic interplay between human and machine, as well as contemplating the nature of consciousness itself.
