Adrian Avila's studio practice delves into an exploration of the timeless self and its connection to the collective consciousness. He draws heavily from their experiences as a Cuban-American, and navigates various levels of socialization, regarding the feminine archetype, wisdom and knowlege, and empowerment throughout life.

He considers himself a visual anthropologist whose goal is to document a journey  shedding societal norms while tapping into a spirituality, and crafting a new visual lexicon for exploring the emotional body.

The visual language Adrian employs in his textures, symbols,  patterns, and sacred geometric shapes,  highlights the underlying illumination that carries through to the depths of self-discovery.

His series of "Astros" references celestial bodies, symbolizes the exploration of the internal and external landscapes. His rationalization takes into account astrological influences, archetypes from religious narratives, psychological studies, and spiritual motifs.

While his "Logos,"  -- a latin term defined as the divine word -- embodies light piercing through his work, reflecting his interpretation of emotions through a meticulous process beginning with a single dot.

Adrians current work aims to meld divinity with the act of reasoning. In this way he forge connections between the sacred and the creative process.

Quote
Adrian is a Renaissance man, who embodies hard work, refinement, wisdom, curiosity, humor, humility and honesty.
As a muralist his work stands out for the unexpected polished line, rich colors, meticulous composition and depth of story behind the oeuvre. They are massive fine art paintings on walls left to the elements and gazes of the passerby.
His gallery work is a testament to the preciousness of his talent, worthy of being stewarded.
