Tanya Momi is a Bay Area visual artist, author, and cultural storyteller whose work moves across abstraction, figurative painting, cubism, social realism, and spiritual expression. Trained in Fine Arts in Chandigarh, India, she works primarily in acrylic and oil, creating paintings that are vibrant, emotionally charged, and deeply connected to personal experience and the human condition.

Momi's artistic practice is rooted in storytelling. Her work draws from memory, identity, women's experiences, history, culture, and the emotional landscapes that shape our lives. She is known for moving freely between artistic styles while maintaining a distinctly personal visual voice.

After building a successful career as an entrepreneur in Silicon Valley, Momi returned to painting with renewed focus and has developed an extensive body of work exhibited in the United States and internationally. Her work has been shown in India, London, Toronto, Austria, Germany, Hong Kong, Beverly Hills, and throughout the Bay Area, including exhibitions connected with the Triton Museum of Art, the New Museum Los Gatos (NUMU), the Los Altos History Museum, and the Crocker Art Museum.

Momi is also the author of Daughter of a Refugee: India’s Partition—History, Memory, and Art, which brings together historical reflection, family memory, and her visual artwork. Her recent projects include a major exhibition exploring the legacy of the 1947 Partition and a six-month solo exhibition, Colors in Rhythm, at Los Altos Hills Town Hall.

Through painting, writing, and public dialogue, Tanya Momi creates work intended to move people, spark conversation, and bring human stories into view.
