I am trying to reinvent myself. I am trying to be an authentic part of this world.

I choose to be a human.

Art is my way to self-awareness. This process includes the recognition of the repressed thoughts and feelings, the dreams and primordial symbols which “live and function within our soul, while the Ego, he does not even suspect their existence”, C.Jung.

Self-awareness, “Γνώθι σε αυτόν, as the Ancient Greek philosopherSokrates declaredis thekey to understand the vulnerability of human nature and the use of paper in my art represents exactly this quality. Paper is an organic material that is fragile, it can be wrinkled or torn. I use it as a painting, printing or collage surface in different dimensions. Paper emerges a sensitivity and refers to vulnerability and human imperfections.

In my art practice the materials come along the idea, but the approach is consistent. Analysis, research, and surrealistic automatic writing can lead to a single art piece, or a combination of pieces or in a total installation project.

I want my art not to be just aesthetic, but to stimulate the emotion and the brain of the viewer. I want to invite everyone to connect threw my art with the universal themes of existence and find his own introspective path.

Biography

Efi Seitanidou was born and raised in Athens. She completed her studies in Chemical Engineering and has been working in industry for several years.

Her interest in science was paralleled by her interest in art at the same time. Science and art have similar approaches, as both are based on research and experimentation.

After having attended many art courses, she decided to do professional studies. In 2019 she enrolled in the private college "Borgias Fine Art" in Athens, where she completed the five-year study program in visual arts. Throughout her studies, she was educated by renowned artists and completed her thesis on September 2024.

Efi’s practice is based on a combination of free expression of unconscious imagination with moments of absolute concentration in creation. Her paintings, prints, and installations touch emotionally the viewer. As she is constantly seeking knowledge, she is now attending engraving lessons to enhance her practice.

Efi’s art was showcased at “Melina Merkouri Cultural Centre” (Athens,2024) as well as in several local exhibitions in Greece. She was a mediator in the international exhibitions held in Greece, “What about Eve?” (July 2024) and “Platforms project” (October 2024)

Efi’s artworks belong to private collectors in Greece and Italy.
