I am trying to reinvent myself. I am trying to be an authentic part of this world.
I choose to be a human.
Art is my way to self-awareness. This process includes the recognition of the repressed thoughts and feelings, the dreams and primordial symbols which “live and function within our soul, while the Ego, he does not even suspect their existence”, C.Jung.
Self-awareness, “Γνώθι σε αυτόν”, as the Ancient Greek philosopherSokrates declared, is thekey to understand the vulnerability of human nature and the use of paper in my art represents exactly this quality. Paper is an organic material that is fragile, it can be wrinkled or torn. I use it as a painting, printing or collage surface in different dimensions. Paper emerges a sensitivity and refers to vulnerability and human imperfections.
In my art practice the materials come along the idea, but the approach is consistent. Analysis, research, and surrealistic automatic writing can lead to a single art piece, or a combination of pieces or in a total installation project.
I want my art not to be just aesthetic, but to stimulate the emotion and the brain of the viewer. I want to invite everyone to connect threw my art with the universal themes of existence and find his own introspective path.
