Veronica Aranda/Vero Artsy artist/creative, philanthropist working in Southern California, Tijuana border, and Europe.

I create mostly visual art; paintings, mixed media, sculpture, printmaking, group exhibitions, and other forms of art. In addition, creating with artists of all ages and abilities and with communities.  Sometimes I deconstruct forms to express them in a whole new meaning because there is more to the eye of the beholder versus what we can feel and experience.

Coming to the U.S. as an immigrant child and living in Mexico, Brazil, New York City and France as an adult has made me the diverse and curious person I have become, which has also made me the artist I am now — who believes in equal rights and opportunities.  Given the fact of the disparity of the social and cultural classes, I want to make art which will unite communities with love and respect. I keep pushing through the boundaries and stereotypes of the artist’s expectation and keep creating because it is my way of coping with life in a healing and expressive way.

Sitting in stillness before the chaos of an unwanted interaction.

Biography

Born in Aguascalientes, Mexico, Veronica Aranda immigrated to Palm Springs, California, at age seven. Drawing and painting became her way of connecting with a new environment. Both self-taught and formally trained, her practice spans from painting, printmaking, mixed media to conceptual sculpture.

As a bicultural artist and educator based in San Diego, Vero integrates art, community, and education. She creates paintings and mixed media work, participates in group exhibitions, and collaborates with artists of all ages and abilities across Southern California.

Beyond her studio practice, Vero founded Art connects HeArts, bringing art practice to communities throughout Southern California and to children at orphanages in Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico. Through her work, she fosters connections between cultures, generations, and communities using art as a tool for expression, and healing.
