Sajad Amini is an Iranian-American contemporary artist and designer who lives and works in Chicago. He obtained his bachelor's degree in Film and Cinema from the esteemed Sooreh Art University in Tehran. Seeking new horizons, he embarked on a journey to the United States and furthered his studies in Visual Studies at the Pacific Northwest College of Art, Portland. Sajad completed his MFA at the University of Oregon.
Sajad's artwork interweaves his profound life experiences in his home country and the United States. His works delve into the intricate interplay of text, language, and semiotics, serving as a foundational theme that resonates throughout his body of work. Through his art, Sajad delves deep into personal narratives, exploring subjectivity and cultural identities which defines through language. Sajad's works have been showcased in numerous national and international art exhibitions and prestigious residencies.
In addition to his artistic endeavors, Sajad has dedicated himself to academia, sharing his expertise as an Assistant Professor of Art and Design at Georgia State University. He continues to inspire and nurture aspiring designers as an Assistant Professor of Design at DePaul University, Chicago.
