Daniel Oruwhone (b. 1996, Ilorin, Kwara) a native of Delta state, lives and works in Lagos Nigeria. His paintings depicts and honor the African diaspora, reimagining new forms of aesthetic beauty, somewhere between Transmodernity and ideological counter hegemony. The core of his practice emerged from a childhood fascination with the Renaissance masters, combined with a desire to create a resurgence of black self awareness. His message is not to create an ideal or simply copy, but rather to create a resurgence of African mythology and it's deities, visually, in contemporary culture.
